Renault Twizy Testbed & Efficiency Gains

To demonstrate technology benefits in urban mobility, ASPP converted key European light electric vehicles, including a dedicated Renault Twizy retrofit. Replacing the factory motor winding with a combined technology configuration yielded immediate real-world performance improvements without increasing battery pack size.

Driving Range Increase
Higher Torque
Improved Dynamic Acceleration

Despite outstanding energy efficiency and driving dynamics, European commercialization faced structural cost barriers. High custom rewinding expenses and expensive off-the-shelf controllers prevented immediate mass production within Europe, paving the way for the strategic transition to OEM manufacturing hubs in Asia.

"The 25% range extension on the Renault Twizy proved that induction motors could compete directly with permanent magnet systems. However, scaling required integrated drive controllers and serial motor manufacturing."
